INFORMATION AND REFERRAL CENTRE OF GREATER MONTRÉAL FOUNDATION

The main purpose of the Foundation is to work actively to maintain the Referral Centre and broaden the scope of its services.

This is achieved by funding is provided by individuals, partnerships, businesses, corporations and other legal entities who make donations, bequests and gifts to support and maintain charitable, educational and humanitarian activities of the Greater Montréal Referral Centre.

This help is crucial in allowing the Referral Centre to pursue its social work. As society changes rapidly and problems grow increasingly complex, people need to know where to turn to receive the help they need. At the Referral Centre we put people in touch with the organizations that can best help them deal with their problems. When you support the Centre, you contribute to improve their quality of life. For many, information from the Centre represents a ray of hope for better days ahead.

Please forward your donations to the:

Social problems touch you? You would like to help?

By becoming a member of the Foundation, you help more than 70 000 people of your community each year.

The contribution of community organizations like the Information and Referral Centre is absolutely essential for the preservation and the well-being of our human community.

Through the years social information took new dimensions, the many requests for help and information received everyday at the centre since 1956 show the need in:
  • Assistance concerning problems linked to food assistance;
  • Assistance for help with consumer problems, budget problems and debts;
  • Information and referral concerning social security, unemployment insurance and employment search;
  • Information concerning health problems among which Alzheimer, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity;
  • Information and referral for a problem or a self-support group in mental health;
  • Information and assistance concerning private residences for elderly.
The social challenge of this decade is becoming clear: our society must insure the means of subsistence to the thousands of people without work in the social economic structure that we see emerging. It also falls to our society to respect the dignity of these people, to safeguard their right of speech and their access to available services.
